Back in late October, I stepped through the Pregnancy Help Clinic doors for the first time. I had always known of them but was  interested in becoming more involved and working with them on media/communication projects. I received a warm welcome by all the volunteers and a full tour of the beautiful building. It was an amazing experience. Now, I try to volunteer there as a receptionist once a week, and I am also the director for their upcoming Educational Video. (which will be released to the public next month). Every time I am there, I am blown away by the amount of loving support that is overflowing inside! Pregnancy Help Clinic really does provide women with real help and options.

I believe Pregnancy Help Clinic is truly pivotal in our community, and its worth is immeasurable!

Pregnancy Help Clinic is a limited medical facility licensed by the State of Michigan which provides entirely free and confidential help to girls and women facing an unplanned pregnancy. The Proof of Your Love

I have a handful of new posts sitting in my draft box, waiting to be finished, but I couldn't put off writing about this beautiful song. The other day, my best friend told me about a Christian song which is based off 1 Corinthians 1-13. I was skeptical at first, because I have fairly picky standards for Christian songs. As soon as I got home, I watched the music video she sent me.
I was close to tears as I watched in the early hours of the morning. I was not expecting such a powerful message along with a great melody! It is something I have been thinking much about lately, and one of the reasons I wanted to start this blog. So, I decided the song was too good not to share! Excited to hear it yet? (:

Here is the link to the music video.

"If I speak with human eloquence, and angelic ecstasy, but don't love, I'm nothing but the creaking of a rusty gate. If I speak God's word with power, revealing all of His mysteries and making everything as plain as day, and if I have faith to say to a mountain, 'jump' and it jumps, but I don't love, I am nothing. If I give all I earn to the poor, or even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don't love, I've gotten no where. So, no matter what I say, no matter what I believe, no matter what I do, I am bankrupt without love."

Pretty influential, huh? It's something to think about!

Blessed Mother Teresa also has much to say about this topic:
"It is not how much we do, but how much love we put in the doing.  It is not how much we give, but how much love we put in the giving. We can do no great things; only small things with great love. There is a terrible hunger for love. We all experience that in our lives – the pain, the loneliness.  We must have the courage to recognize it.  The poor you may have right in your own family. Find them. Love them."
“The greatest disease in the West today is not TB or leprosy; it is being unwanted, unloved, and uncared for. We can cure physical diseases with medicine, but the only cure for loneliness, despair, and hopelessness is love. There are many in the world who are dying for a piece of bread but there are many more dying for a little love. The poverty in the West is a different kind of poverty -- it is not only a poverty of loneliness but also of spirituality. There's a hunger for love, as there is a hunger for God.” - Blessed Mother Teresa
There is, without a doubt, a hunger for love in our culture today. It is a very serious epidemic that has a devastating affect on each and every one of us. Of course, from the first moment of the original sin, our love has never been what it was meant to be, however, it has gotten worse and worse as the world continues to grow in darkness. We have an important duty, as soldiers of Christ, to love everyone, in every little thing we do and say, and in every situation. Yet, it can be quite intimidating to have this duty of being the proof of Christ's love in the world. Our new papa, Pope Francis, courageously exclaimed, "We must not be afraid of goodness, of tenderness!"
So let's get out there and not be afraid to love others with God's love. I'll try if you do! (:

The Proof Of Your Love by For King & Country

If I sing but don't have love
I waste my breath with every song
I bring an empty voice, a hollow noise
If I speak with a silver tongue
Convince a crowd but don't have love
I leave a bitter taste with every word I say

So let my life be the proof,
The proof of Your love
Let my love look like You and what You're made of
How You lived, how You died
Love is sacrifice
So let my life be the proof,
The proof of Your love

If I give
To a needy soul but don't have love then who is poor?
It seems all the poverty is found in me

So let my life be the proof,
The proof of Your love
Let my love look like You and what You're made of
How You lived, how You died
Love is sacrifice
Oh, let my life be the proof,
The proof of Your love

When it's all said and done
When we sing our final song
Only love remains
Only love remains

Let my life be the proof,
The proof of Your love
Let my love look like You and what You're made of
How You lived, how You died
Love is sacrifice
So let my life be the proof,
The proof of Your love.

I plan on writing more about this topic; there's so much to say... But for now, I hope you all love this song as much as I do, and share it with others!

Happy Feast Day of Saint Joseph!

Endless Echoes

"Kind words are short and easy to speak,
but their echoes are truly endless."
- Blessed Mother Teresa

On Monday, March 11th, in the late afternoon, one of my closest friends and I set out to pray at Planned Parenthood as part of the 40 Days For Life Campaign(Link:40 Days for Life). It was a rainy, cold, windy day, but God was definitely on our side!
Toward the end of our rosary, a struggling, older man came trudging through the rain along side the road, passed by us, and I turned my head to look at him. He took a moment to thank us for what we were doing,

"Thank you for doing this, God bless you, thank you, you're out here not even wearing a hat! God bless you."

Encouraging us with an enthusiastic smile, warming my heart in the cold rain. I thanked him, and we continued to pray. Through the rest of the hour, we received a good number of honks, because of the heavy traffic. We were still there as he silently passed us again, headed back the way he came.
At home later that day, I stumbled upon this quote by Blessed Mother Teresa and began to ponder about the earlier encounter. Although this man has had a difficult life, he has a soft heart and was willing to stop and express kindness before carrying on his way.
I am convinced his kind words will echo endlessly in my heart, whether or not I remember that moment as time goes on. And, I am convinced that all those who witnessed my friend and I, have in some way been touched as well; producing more and more echoes.
I am always reminded of the truth of this quote, so I do plan on writing on it again, until then, I will leave you with this:
If you wish to say something sweet to someone, encourage them, or any other act of kindness (especially when it is least expected), do it! It may seem small and of little importance at the time, but Blessed Mother Teresa is spot on, the echoes produced will truly carry on...

“Spring is the time of plans and projects.” - Leo Tolstoy

This morning on the way to Mass, I could smell Spring in the air! It was just lovely having the windows down on the highway.
Spring is just around the corner, and that means new plans and new projects! One of my many new projects is this. A blog where I can practice writing, share inspiring quotes, thought-provoking topics, and whatever other grand things I discover that are too good to hold to myself and share it all with you.

Things to expect:

1. I cannot write...

I am not a good writer. However, I want to be. I plan to go into Journalism/English and Communication Studies so now I NEED to be. So it begins! Bear with me.

2. Randomness...

I am a random person. I hope you will enjoy the spontaneous reflections and observations by just silly lil' me.

3. The Unknown...

I am still not entirely sure what this blog will turn into. I shall learn as I go along!
It is currently an unraveling idea...
                        "Bluebird of Happiness"
    ~La vita รจ bella~
                                                                                       (Life is beautiful)

The Bluebird of Happiness

I did a little research into the history of the Bluebird and here are the interesting bits of information I found online:

"Bluebird of Happiness",

is a poem written by, George J. Carroll:
"And in the valley beneath the mountains of my youth, lies the river of my tears. As it wends its way to the ocean of my dreams, so long ago they have gone. And yet, if I were but to think anew, would these dreams evaporate in my mind and become the morning dew upon a supple rose whose beauty is enhanced with these glistening drops, as the sun of life peeks o'er the mountains when youth was full. Then I must not supply this endless fountain that creates the river of my tears but look beyond those mountains where the bluebird of happiness flies."
"In the story of the Bluebird of Happiness, the children of a woodcutter are sent to look for the Bluebird of Happiness by a fairy. The children search different lands until they find the bird in its cage. The moral of the story is that true happiness can be found close to home."

Symbolism: A bluebird symbolizes happiness. It is a widely accepted symbol of cheerfulness, happiness, prosperity, hearth and home, good health, new birth, the renewal of springtime, etc.

Now, You're probably thinking, "So how does this all play into my idea?"
Yes, there's a point to all this...

I think Blessed Mother Teresa expressed it perfectly,
“I'm a little pencil in the hand of a writing God, who is sending a love letter to the world.”
“Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God's kindness: kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile.”

I believe one of my callings is to make that my mission through communication/visual arts. Growing up, I was taught to always search for the beauty, truth, and goodness of God in life and share it with others. It is everyone's call to be living expressions of God's kindness, so I hope you will join me.
The other day, I was at an amazing pro-life conference and in one of the talks, a priest said something that caught my attention:
"The reason for communicating is to communicate the truth."
I immediately jotted it down in my notes so I would remember. I think this is one of the many reasons I am so attracted to communication of all sorts. Language, words, writing and communicating are all such a powerful things, because they are meant to be used in sharing the one truth.
Through this blog that is exactly what I hope to do. I want to serve you. Yes, YOU. I hope to share all that inspires me in order to help others. When I find something beautiful, it's really hard for me to keep it to myself!

That being said, welcome to Bluebird, the blog of Bluebird Productions! :)

I have two other blogs in use, which can be found below. I would love it if you would check them out!

God's Beauty Photography by Emily Grace:

Lady Philosophy:

I am hoping to start another one for more serious/controversial topics/news for more practice for journalism specifically. The name will be revealed in the near future! :)
If you are still reading this, THANK YOU. You've made it to the end! * high five * I hope you will come along with me on this journey, as I start my new life, and discover why "la vita e bella" one day at a time.

Con amore in Cristo,

P.S. Funny note about the name: My parents called me "bluebird" when I was a baby, and my best friend has started calling me that recently, too, so I figured it worked. :)
